Melanie is a coach for NYRR’s awesome Group Training program as well as for JackRabbit and Run4Fun Youth Running Club in Brooklyn. After 9 years in the weight loss biz, Melanie decided to follow her passion for nurturing runners and received her RRCA certification in 2015. A member of Hellgate Road Runners in Astoria, Melanie has completed 17 marathons to date as well as the NYC 60K, where she finished 9th in her age group in her ultra-marathon debut. Melanie comes from a theatre background and finds the NYC running community surprisingly similar and equally as friendly. She believes that every run is an opportunity to learn more about yourself and that even the toughest of workouts should have an element of fun!

Along the river in Astoria Park and across any and all bridges!
What's your favorite NYRR race?
It's a tie between two completely different experiences: the TCS New York City Marathon for its grand epic scope, and the NYC 60K for the small-town community feel.
What is your personal running motto?
"Consistency trumps intensity."
Personal Best Times:
"Best time"? I always try to have a good time. If it's not fun, what's the point?
